Inishturk Ferry and Clare Island Ferry Company provides indoor & outdoor storage facilities plus cold and frozen storage facilities at Roonagh. We offer the service to pallet size items of cargo on all sailings. However, for larger items (like drive-on machinery which can’t be loaded on by crane) we have to work around the tides–the slipway is not accessible for every scheduled sailing time, so it is vital that you call us in advance.
Information
Whenever you’re planning to ship any cargo items, please contact us at least two hours before it’s due to travel.
You can check the rates chart for the different types of cargo below and check our cargo service terms and conditions here below. Times for the Clare Island cargo service may vary due to the weather and tide. We reserve the right to cancel sailings at short notice due to bad weather.

Cargo Terms & Conditions
Return prices are double one way prices.
Facilities for receiving and transporting frozen, chilled or perishable goods may be provided. Pre-booking is essential.
Suppliers of palleted cargo must ensure that pallets are presented in a secure way (shrink-wrapped).
Every effort is made to keep the working areas of the piers in a clean condition. Co-operation from customers regarding the removal of waste packaging and pallets from the pier area is appreciated.
Fuel Oil: Diesel and kerosene will be carried in tanks on deck. You must call suppliers and order your fuel in advance. Petrol is to be carried in steel jerry cans only and not in plastic containers. When fuel, gas or any other dangerous cargo is being transported on board, strictly no passengers are allowed to travel.
Payment: An account is set up for each customer and these accounts are invoiced at the end of each month.
